In order to use premium packs, it is necessary to import a license key to your T3.
To do this, perform the three procedures given below. You should normally only have to do this once.

Your T3 has a unique ID, which is used to generate the license key for your individual instrument. To export it for uploading to the Yamaha web site in order to obtain your license key file, do the following.
1. Insert a compatible USB storage device into the T3's USB port, located to the right of the keyboard.
2. While holding down the direct access button, (located on the screen, below button E), press the expansion button, (right section, row 3, button 9), to display the Owner Screen.
3. Press button I, to export the Instrument ID.
4. Press button G, to copy the Instrument ID to your USB storage device.
5. When copying is complete, press button F. Copying should take about 10 seconds at most.
6. Remove the USB Storage device from your T3 and insert it into your computer.
You should be able to see a file called
instrument_id.n26
on your USB storage device. If you do not, please confirm you are using a compatible USB storage device. If you are still unable to create an instrument ID, please contact Yamaha for assistance.
1. Download the license key file from the my account section at www.yamahamusicsoft.com
If you don't already have an account you will need to register.
2. Once your download is complete, copy and paste the unzipped license key to your USB storage device.
3. Do not rename the files. Do not take the files out of any folder they may be in, once unzipped from the original file.
1. Insert the USB storage device containing your license key into the USB port on your instrument (located just to the right of the keyboard).
2. To import the license key, press and hold down the direct access button, (located on the screen, below button E) and press the expansion button, (right section, row 3, button 9), to display the Owner Screen.
3. Press button J, followed by button G, to import the License Key.
4. When importing is complete, the upper portion of the OWNER screen will display the message: "License Key: Registered".
5. Press button G, to confirm installation.
6. Your instrument is now licensed. You can skip this procedure next time you load a premium pack onto your T3.
