Wally's Panel Button Chart

Introduction

In this document, for ease, the instruments button panel has been split into 3 sections, left section, centre section and right section.

Where given, rows are numbered from the top, (back of the instrument), to bottom, (front of the instrument) and buttons from left to right.

General Description For Each Section

Left section: The information relates to buttons positioned between the left-hand edge of the instrument, up to, but not including, any controls positioned on the display panel itself, or the 2 rows of 8 buttons and the row of sliders, positioned below the display panel.

Centre Section: The information relates to buttons/controls positioned on the display panel itself, the 2 rows of 8 buttons and the row of sliders positioned below the display panel, plus the data entry dial and enter button.

Right Section: The information relates to buttons positioned between the right-hand side of the display panel to the right-hand edge of the instrument, but not including any buttons on the display panel itself, the data entry dial and enter button.

Left Section

1. The small serrated, inset rotary control on the far left, about half way down is the INPUT VOLUME control.

2. The large serrated, surface-mounted, rotary control below item 1, is the MASTER VOLUME control.

3. Row 2, button 1, is the [DEMO] button, which brings up the DEMO display.

4. Row 5, button 1, just to the right of the upper half of the master volume control, is the [FADE IN/OUT] button.

5. The 2 buttons positioned side by side, located at the left hand end of the keyboard, level with the back of the keys, are the UPPER OCTAVE [minus] (left button) and [plus] (right button), which bring up the UPPER OCTAVE (pop-up).

6. the spring loaded wheel at the front left of the keyboard, is the PITCH BEND wheel.

7. The wheel to the right of the pitch bend wheel, is the MODULATION wheel.

8. The 2 buttons, positioned one above the other, situated between the modulation wheel and the left most key of the keyboard, are the articulation buttons, [ART. 1, the upper of the two) and [ART. 2, the lower of the two).

Microphone Section

This section has 5 buttons, 2 of which are located in row 1, buttons 1 and 2. the other 3, are located in row 2, buttons 2, 3 and 4.

10. Row 1, button 1, is the MIC [VH TYPE SELECT], which is pressed to enter the Vocal Harmony Type Selection display.

Row 1, button 2, is the [MIC SETTING] MICROPHONE SETTING display, OVERALL SETTING.

The following option is accessed by pressing the above button.

Row 2, button 2, is the [VOCAL HARMONY] button.

Row 2, button 3, is the [EFFECT] button.

Row 2, button 4, is the [TALK] button.

Song Section

This section has 17 buttons, 9 of which are located in row 1, buttons 3 to 11. the other 8, are located in row 2, buttons 5 to 11.

11. Row 1, buttons 3 and 4 plus row 2, buttons 4 and 5, are the SONG [1] to [4] butttons, which bring up the Song Selection display.

Row 1, buttons 5 and 6 plus row 2, buttons 6 and 7, are the [SP 1] to [SP 4] buttons.

Row 2, button 9, is the [LOOP] button.

Row 1, button 7, is the record, [REC] button.

Row 1, button 8, is the [STOP] button.

Row 1, button 9, is the [PLAY/PAUSE] button.

Row 1, buttons 10 and 11, are the rewind, [REW] and fast forward, [FF] buttons respectively and bring up the SONG POSITION (pop-up).

Row 2, button 10, is the [METRONOME] button.

Row 2, button 11, is the [LYRICS/TEXT] button and brings up the LYRICS or TEXT display.

Row 2, button 12, is the [SCORE] button and brings up the SCORE display.

Style Selection Section

12. Row 3, buttons 1 to6 and, row 4, buttons 1 to 6, are the STYLE [POP and ROCK] to [WORLD] Style Selection buttons which bring up their respective pages in the Style Selection display.

Style Control Section

This section has 17 buttons, row 5, buttons 2 to 4 and row 6, buttons 1 to 14.

13. Row 5, button 2, is the STYLE CONTROL [ACMP] button.

Row 5, button 3, is the [OTS LINK] (one touch setting) button.

Row 5, button 4, is the [AUTO FILL IN] button.

Row 6, buttons 1, 2 and 3, are the INTRO [1] to [3] buttons.

Row 6, buttons 4, 5, 6 and 7, are the MAIN VARIATION [A] to [D] buttons.

Row 6, button 8, is the [BREAK] button.

Row 6, buttons 9, 10 and 11, are the ENDING/rit. [1] to [3] buttons.

Row 6, button 12, is the [SYNC STOP] button.

Row 6, button 13, is the [SYNC START].

Row 6, button 14, is the [START/STOP] button.

Tempo Section

This section has 3 buttons, row 5, buttons 5 to 7.

14. Row 5, button 5, is the round, TEMPO [TAP TEMPO] button.

Row 5, buttons 6 and 7, are the TEMPO [minus] and [plus] buttons respectively and bring up the TEMPO (pop-up).

Multi Pad Control Section

This section has 6 buttons, row 5, buttons 8 to 13.

15. Row 5, button 8, is the MULTI PAD CONTROL [SELECT] button and brings up the Multi Pad Selection display.

Row 5, buttons 9, 10, 11 and 12, are the Multi Pad [1] to [4] buttons.

Row 5, button 13, is the Multi Pad [STOP] button.

Transpose Section

16. Row 4, buttons 7 and 8, are the TRANSPOSE [minus] and [plus] buttons respectively and bring up the TRANSPOSE (pop-up).

Mixing Section

This section has 3 buttons, row 4, button 9, row 5, button 14 and row 6, button 15.

17. Row 4, button 9, just to the left of the bottom left-hand corner of the display panel, is the [MIXING CONSOLE] button which brings up the MIXING CONSOLE display.

The following options are available by pressing the above button.

18. Row 5, button 14, slightly above and, to the left of the top edge of the left-hand most slider, is the [CHANNEL ON/OFF] button which brings up the CHANNEL ON/OFF (pop-up). also used with STYLE and SONG sections.

19. Row 6, button 15, immediately to the left of the row of sliders, is the [BALANCE] button which brings up the BALANCE (pop-up). there are two pages,1/2, 2/2.

Centre Section

20. At the top, right-hand corner of the display panel, are two buttons positioned side-by-side. these are the TAB [LEFT] and [RIGHT] buttons.

On the left side of the display panel is a column of 5 buttons with a corresponding column of 5 on the right side, below the tab buttons. These are the [A] to [E] and [F] to [J] buttons respectively.

The square button below the [A] to [E] buttons is the [DIRECT ACCESS] button.

The square button below the [F] to [J] buttons is the [EXIT] button.

Just above the keys, in the centre of the instrument is a row of sliders, the left-hand most one of which is separated from the others, this is the [ASSIGN] slider.

To the right of the [ASSIGN] slider, is a row of 8 slide controls, these are the [1] to [8] sliders.

Directly above the [1] to [8] sliders are the [1 UP DOWN] to [8 UP DOWN] buttons.

To the right of the [1 up down] to [8 up down] buttons is the [DATA ENTRY] dial.

To the right of the [DATA ENTRY] dial, at the five o'clock position is the round, [ENTER] button.

Right Section

Menu Section

This section has 3 buttons, row 1, buttons 1 to 3.

21. Row 1, button 1, is the [FUNCTION] button, providing acces to the MASTER TUNE/SCALE TUNE options.

The following screens can be accessed by pressing the above button:

  • SCALE TUNE.
  • SONG SETTING .
  • STYLE SETTING/SPLIT POINT/CHORD FINGERING STYLE SETTING.
  • SPLIT POINT.
  • CHORD FINGERING.
  • CONTROLLER ASSIGN SLIDER.
  • FOOT PEDAL.
  • KEYBOARD/PANEL.
  • REGIST SEQUENCE/FREEZE/VOICE SET REGISTRATION SEQUENCE.
  • FREEZE.
  • VOICE SET.
  • HARMONY/ECHO .
  • SCREEN OUT.
  • MIDI SYSTEM.
  • TRANSMIT.
  • RECEIVE.
  • BASS.
  • CHORD DETECT.
  • MFC10.
  • UTILITY CONFIG1.
  • CONFIG2.
  • MEDIA.
  • OWNER.
  • SYSTEM RESET.
  • Row 1, button 2, is the [VOICE CREATOR] button with brings up the LIBRARY LOAD display.

    the following options can be accessed by pressing the above button:

    Row 1, button3, is the [DIGITAL RECORDING] button and brings up the SONG CREATOR REC MODE screen.

    Hard Disk Recorder Section

    This section has 7 buttons, row 1, buttons 4 to 10.

    22. Row 1, button 4, is the HARD DISK RECORDER record, [REC] button and brings up the AUDIO SETTING display (REC MODE).

    Row 1, button 5, is the [STOP] button.

    Row 1, button 6, is the [PLAY/PAUSE] button.

    Row 1, buttons 7 and 8, are the previous, [PREV] and [NEXT] button and bring up the AUDIO POSITION (pop-up).

    Row 1, button 9, is the [SELECT] button and brings up the Audio Selection display.

    Row 1, button 10, is the [SETTING] button and brings up the AUDIO SETTING display/VOLUME.

    Voice Effect Section

    This section has 6 buttons, row 1, buttons 11 to 16.

    23. Row 1, button 11, is the VOICE EFFECT [HARMONY/ECHO] button.

    Row 1, button 12, is the [INITIAL TOUCH] button.

    Row 1, button 13, is the [SUSTAIN] button.

    Row 1, button 14, is the [MONO] button.

    Row 1, button 15, is the [DSP] button.

    Row 1, button 16, is the [VARIATION] button.

    Other controls

    24. Row 2, button 1, is the [INTERNET] button for accessing the Special Website (only when connected to the internet).

    25. Row 3, button 1, is the [MUSIC FINDER] button and brings up the MUSIC FINDER display ALL.

    Voice section

    This section has 18 buttons in 2 rows. row 2, buttons 2 to 10 and row 3, buttons 2 to 10.

    26. Row 2, buttons 2 to 10 and row 3, buttons 2 to 7, are the VOICE [PIANO] to [SYNTH] buttons and brings up the Voice Selection display (Preset Voices).

    Row 3, button 8, is the [ORGAN FLUTES] button and brings up the Organ Flutes Voice Set display FOOTAGE.

    The following options can be accessed by pressing the above button:

    Row 3, button 9, is the [EXPANSION] Voice button and brings up the Selection display (Expansion Voices).

    Row 3, button 10, is the [USER DRIVE], sometimes known as [Custom Voices, brings up the Voice Selection display (USER).

    Registration Section

    This section has 12 buttons, Row 4 buttons 1 to 4 and row 5, buttons 1 to 8.

    27. Row 4, buttons 1 and 2, are the REGISTRATION MEMORY REGIST BANK [minus] and [plus] buttons and bring up the REGISTRATION BANK (pop-up).

    Row 4, button 3, is the [FREEZE] button.

    Row 4, button 4, is the [MEMORY] button and brings up the REGISTRATION MEMORY CONTENTS display.

    Row 5, buttons 1 to 8 are the [1] to [8] registration selection buttons.

    One Touch Section

    This section has 4 buttons, row 4, buttons 5 to 8.

    28. Row 4, buttons 5 to 8, are the ONE TOUCH SETTING [1] to [4] buttons.

    Part Select Section

    This section has 9 buttons, row 4, buttons 9 to 12 and row 5, buttons 9 to 13.

    Note: the buttons on row 4, 9 to 12, are set slightly lower than the other buttons in this row.

    29. Row 4, buttons 9 to 12, are the PART SELECT [LEFT] and [RIGHT 1, 2 and 3] buttons respectively.

    30. Row 5, button 9, is the PART ON/OFF [LEFT HOLD] button.

    Row 5, buttons 10 to 13, are the PART ON/OFF [LEFT] and [RIGHT 1, 2 and 3] buttons respectively.
